Leah & Jeff met the way all great modern love stories begin: on Zoom.

Jeff’s manager asked if he could chat with a promising recruit. That recruit was Leah.

Jeff thought Leah was cute—but she casually mentioned her boyfriend mid-conversation.

Leah also thought Jeff was cute—but she was more focused on the job and, well, her relationship (Respectable).

Leah took the job. Shortly after, Jeff heard through the grapevine she was single.

When she officially joined the team, Jeff was assigned as her onboarding peer mentor.

After a few weeks of being extremely helpful, Jeff invited Leah to a Saturday day party. From there, they spent the next 36 hours together—eating, barhopping and sharing stories. (fun fact: three years later, they are still doing this)

It was easy. It was natural. It felt like they had known each other forever.

They started dating shortly after.

Leah’s dog Luca was confused by a new man around. Jeff seemed nice, but Luca wasn’t happy about sharing Leah’s time.

Fast forward a few months and it came time for them to meet each other’s families-

Jeff flew to New York to meet Leah’s family. They went to a Rangers game, he drank bourbon, they enjoyed beautiful 3-hour dinners. Leah’s family quickly noticed how happy she was & that Jeff was really tall. They had fun together and this would be the first trip of many.

Leah and Jeff took a flight to California to meet his family. She saw where Jeff grew up and met many of his friends. Jeff’s family quickly noticed how genuine and loving Leah was. That was the kind of partner they wanted for him.

By this time, Luca was no longer confused about Jeff. He didn’t call Jeff, “dad”, but he also didn’t dislike Jeff.

They changed jobs and no longer worked together. They traveled to new places (well, mostly new for Jeff). They ate even more food. Leah took professional DJ courses and obtained certifications as a holistic nutritionist. Jeff took a role with a startup he was really passionate about and started saving for a ring. He knew she was the one.

Jeff proposed to Leah on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas and celebrated with loved ones who came to witness.

They sold their homes and moved into an apartment together.

They’ve grown together, focusing on communication, finances, routines, health, fitness, picking their battles, not leaving dishes in the sink, date nights & much more.

Luca began loving his dad, Jeff.
